Pour over time with our Chemex

Get ready for an amazing brewing experience with the 8 Cup Chemex!

Let's dive in with the perfect ratio of 1 part of coarsely ground coffee to 15 parts of brewing water. That's 53g of coffee to 800ml of water for a brew that can serve up to 5 people in just 5-6 minutes.

  • Dose: 53g

  • Brew volume: 800ml

  • Ratio: 1 : 15

  • Grind size: coarse

  • Water temperature: 96°C / 205°F

  • Pouring pattern: 150 – 130 – 130 – 130 – 130 – 130 ml

  • Pouring intervals: every 15 seconds (after a 30 second bloom)

  • Total time: 5 minutes and 30 seconds

For larger brews, adjust to a coarser grind setting to enhance the flavor profile.

Now, let's aim for a grind setting almost as coarse as a French Press for an exceptional brew. Tweak the settings only if needed, ensuring a velvety mouthfeel that is richer than your usual Chemex.

Pour 150ml in a circular motion, allowing the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds. Then, continue with a 130ml pour every 15 seconds until you finish pouring by 1 minute and 30 seconds. Your coffee should be fully extracted by the 5:30 mark.

This pouring pattern is designed to intensify the flavors and create that luxurious mouthfeel. Get ready to savor every sip and notice the difference of a Chemex Pour Over!
